Regulation of Acupuncture and TCM in Ontario

What You Need To Know

Ontario law now requires every practitioner to be a registered member of the CTCPMAO (College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario) to ensure the protection of the public.

It is the only organization legally authorized to determine who is qualified to practice acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in Ontario.

In Ontario, only members of the CTCMPAO can:

• Perform acupuncture
• Claim to be a qualified acupuncturist or practitioner
• Communicate a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis
• Use the title, abbreviation or variation of "traditional Chinese medicine practitioner" or "acupuncturist"

All members of the College are listed on the Online College Registry. If the name of a practitioner does not appear in the Registry, that person may be practicing illegally.

Alice Kwasniok is a registered member of the CTCMPAO, holding the titles "Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac)" and "Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP)".
